One of the things that many users miss inside the current 1.7 Version of Affinity Designer is the Image to Vector Tracing Tool. Although it is not wise to have a blanket approach to every pixel bases image, It is a big help if you have a difined image, like a logo that you trying to trace and can do so with the help of software.

Having the ability to trace vector copies of your images is a standard feature of any vectors graphics software. For Affinity Designer users though, we're out of luck. Designer, for whatever reason, does not possess the ability to do this. Although there's no auto image trace feature built in, you can still do vector image tracing with Affinity Designer using the Pen Tool.

Affinity is yet to include power tracing capabilities in their apps and we are anxiously waiting for it because it will happen. So in this tutorial, you would learn how to power trace and convert pixelated image into fine and editable vector. You will also learn some tricks in adding color to your object.

Affinity Designer or Photo has no option to trace bitmaps into a vector curve. We can use the opensource application Inkscape for this, but usually when you have low resolution bitmap, the trace results are very unsatisfactory.

In this video, i'll show you a trick you can apply to get better results in Inkscape by utilising Affinity Photo or Designer.
This trick works best for logo style images with a clear and simple outline.
