Making a giddy little object and talking through the process. Text to outlines, outline path, Pathfinder unite, and Isolation Mode are some of the actors in our play.

This week we upped our Glowforge Pro game by using Illustrator to convert a JPG into an SVG! We took a picture from Pinterest and converted into an SVG using the Illustrator Trace Image tool. Then, gave the laser scoring lines a blue stroke and the laser cut lines a red stroke. Exported the design as an SVG. Used the Glowforge UI App to import the SVG as a cut file. Selected the red layer for laser cutting, and selected the blue layer for laser scoring. Then, we cut out an 18" MDF round using our X-carve.

We created a new DIY 3D Front Door hanger and made it available as a new kit for our store! We've used our Glowforge a couple of times now and have learned some new tips and tricks. In this video we show you how you can use Adobe Illustrator to make customized home decor!

This tutorial shows you how to design a custom silhouette of a baby picture for the Glowforge using the Procreate app and Adobe Illustrator.

We cover how to use the Procreate app to trace a photo, export that traced shape to Illustrator, and convert the exported shape to an SVG for use in the Glowforge.

I used 1/8” white oak plywood from Smokey Hill Designs for my test cut. My cut setting was Proofgrade Medium Walnut Plywood.
