Hello and welcome to WhichLaptop, today we’ll be showing you the best laptops for mechanical engineers!

Having a laptop as a mechanical engineer can save you a whole bunch of costs usually involved in preparing a physical design. But the best laptop doesn’t lay in sheer power - it must tick other boxes and getting the right processor and GPU is paramount.

Luckily I’ve compiled the 3 best laptops for you to use after hours of research and performance testing, I only recommend products that I believe in!

Up first is the Dell G5.

Dell has a whole host of laptops, with the G-series quickly becoming popular for their low price and great performance. This particular model houses an intel 10th Gen intel i5 boostable to 4.5GHZ, a GTX 1650Ti, 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 256GB SSD which is important for those fast loading times.

The keyboard is fully backlit and the screen features an anti-glare finish so you’ll be able to work and play in any lighting conditions!

It weighs 5.1 pounds, a little heavier than some other choices out there, but not too much of a hassle that you can’t carry it to class with you! This is a great option for professionals and students as well, especially those who often rely on graphics-intensive applications and 3D design software. The battery lasts up to 10 hours also so you’ll never have to worry about it shorting out on you!

Our next pick is the ASUS Zephyrus G14.

It's a 3.5-pound notebook packed with an AMD Ryzen 9 3rd GEN CPU (including six-core and eight-core options) an RTX 2060, 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD.

If you’re not a fan of Macs but are looking for the same performance - this has to be in your list of considerations.

It packs a stunning 4K display, powered by a 10th gen intel i7 CPU, GTX 1650ti, 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB SSD. Both the RAM and SSD have an option to be upgraded if needed.

All that power is packed into a machine weighing only 8lbs - allowing it to be both powerful and portable.
