Signify the world leader in lighting, launched its new company name on May 16th 2018 , following the amendment of the company’s articles of association changing its name from Philips Lighting N.V. to Signify N.V.
This video was created before the new company name was launched and therefore still using the Philips brand.
More information can be found here ( signify.com/global/our-company/news/press-releases/2018/20180516-philips-lighting-is-now-signify)

The advances of the past decades have evolved the lighting industry into a rich, multidisciplinary field that is linked firmly to architecture, esthetics, behavioral science and information technology. At this unique crossroads, a new profession is emerging: lighting designer.

What does it mean to be a lighting designer? How do you become one? With whom will you collaborate and what will your responsibilities be? There are many such questions to be asked, and many answers to be shared. By understanding the differences between the various fields of application, you can start the journey from lighting enthusiast to professional designer.

In Becoming a lighting designer you will see the many options that are available to you, and which professional settings you can choose from. Also, you will see which education and training options are open to you on your way to this new specialization.

Dance Lighting Design p1of3

...we wore our Sunday best... from "Dancing In Our Time" - part 1 of 3
Lighting Design: Ted Rhyner, MFA
Artistic Director & Choreography: Sherrie Barr, MFA, Director & Associate Professor of Dance at MSU

Barr has been working with the Burcham Hills Retirement Community to incorporate four senior citizens to become a part of the production.

The senior citizens create the environment where friends come and go throughout the years. Dancing In Our Time‚ speaks of personal journey and individual identity, Barr said.

The art does a lot more than entertain it's also provoking, Barr said. People will be invited to feel things. It's a very intimate kind of space (that) invites you into the dance itself.
