Do UX Designers need to know how to codeThe age old question, do designers need to code. It depends, if you're in a smaller company, wearing multiple hats, it might be seen as a an added skillset you bring to the table. Especially when that team lacks certain skills. On bigger teams or larger companies, they usually have dedicated resources to development. So no need to learn code! But we usually get messed up in terms of how we communicate with each other. Language and communication is key in all relationships, but its especially important when working with engineering teams as a designer. Follow me on social at: instagram.com/comodesignstudio_la/ |
Do UX Designers Need to Code Find Out The TRUTH!Do UX Designers Need to Code? In this video, I discuss UX Design vs Development. Do you need to know how to code in HTML, CSS, and javascript as a UX designer? Watch to find out... The final stage of the UX Design Process is development. Once you have a product that has been tested and refined with users it's time to make things real. A lot of people ask do you need to know code to be a UX designer. You may get a lot of different answers but from my experience, you don't. I know the basics of Html and CSS and that's it. As a junior designer, you don't need to know code as this is a different job. In every place, I've worked as part of the team are Front-end developers. A Front-end developer will take your design and make it come to life. They will put it together in code for whatever type of product you are working on. If you are designing a website then this will be HTML, CSS, and javascript. If you are designing an app then this will be different. There may also be Java developers (which is an entirely different code language than javascript just to make things confusing) on your team if things are a little more complicated. Many tools I've built have multiple front-end and java developers working together over multiple months to create. This is why I believe you don't need to know code. It might be nice to know but it certainly isn't necessary and I know this first hand so don't worry. FREE UX Course |

Does a UX designer need to code | Adobe XD | UX Design 2021Explicitly Designers don't need to code. But let's learn what happens when UI/UX designers need to code. If you are going to transition your career path into UI/UX then I suggest that all UI/UX designers understand how to write code but yes, surely they don’t have any need to write any kind of code. Don’t you think it would be a great and romantic relationship when a male and a female start to understand their partner mind and chemistry The same thing happens when UI/UX designers start to understand the developer's mind or their thinking and this thing only happen when a UI/UX designer knows how to code. When a UI/UX designer starts to understand the code or developer's mind then he will be better positioned to propose more valuable solutions to clients. Here we talk about two main benefits did a UI/UX designer can take. How many languages did a UI/UX designer has to know? If a UI/UX designer knows how to code then it helps you to produce better prototypes. A prototype is the best way to communicate a design idea with your teammates and clients too. According to my experience, it is a mandatory thing that a UI/UX designer knows how to code if he wants to play an essential role in helping the developers team to isolate the interaction problems, which means your final product can be the best. Learning to code for any designer is not necessary but if he knows code then he can understand the developer's perspective and it would be a great benefit for the designers if they know how to code HTML and CSS and maybe a little bit of JavaScript too.
