Sweden Game Arena is one of Europe's premier clusters for education, research and business in games. The purpose of Sweden Game Arena is to to promote all entities cooperating under this joint trademark internationally. The main partners are The Game Incubator in Skövde and in Göteborg, the University of Skövde, the Municipality of Skövde and well over 70 game companies in Västra Götaland.

In this special edition of the GDDI meet-up we have a guest with a special topic. While Adrian is paying good old Iasi a visit, he kindly accepted to give a talk on VR, GD and, of course, his new home away from home, Sweden.

Some of the topics he will discuss are:
- Virtual Reality - what it entails, current trends and tools available for development.
- Game Development - the indie kind; where we are, where we're heading to, problems and solutions.
- Sweden - what it means to relocate to a Nordic country: life, culture, transport and everyday life. What opportunities does it offer to game developers.

Adrian Popovici is an alumni of the Faculty of Computer Science in Iasi. Since high school he developed a passion for video games. This grew on him more like a hobby, taking part in team contests and organizing FIIGamedev, a club dedicated to students interested in learning the secrets of game creation. He gave talks on game dev at events like CodeCamp, ScienceWeek and our very own GDDI. He used to create anything from web pages, Android apps to Unity development, and now his focus is on VR.

He relocated to Sweden about a year ago and is working at the VR start-up Gleechi.
