Episode 49: UX/UI Gamification Framework with Examples

This week’s pick: previously featured Octalysis gamification framework. This has been my go-to resource for years to simply deconstruct and evaluate real-life service and digital user experiences. During experience design (UX research, ideation and design) efforts you'll definitely encounter user pain points around tasks that are painful to accomplish. Gamification is usually one of the answers to such touchpoint enhancement. And so frameworks like these are essential in connecting the dots, proposing new ways of doing things and communicating the underlying solution to the stakeholders.

Featured gamification examples in the real-life products/services: Facebook, Twitter and Diablo 3. The former being fully packed gamified experience.

The process of creating a mobile app UI design is usually focused on solving a problem or helping users to satisfy their needs, so designers have to think much how to support the utility of the digital product. But what if UI is designed for pure entertainment, does it make any difference?
