We've always wanted to do an Itasha style livery. Thanks to Honkai Impact, BOTH @Its Sonny and I get to check this goal off of our bucket list! We clean up the IS300 from the last drift event and install a custom vinyl wrap livery. I wanted to do a Japanese style "Itasha" which is an Anime themed livery. Anime is "Saekano" featuring the character Utaha Kasumigaoka. Having designed the layout, my buddy Steve helped print and install the wrap.

ANIME CAR MEET REACTIONS to Itasha Cars TAKING OVER! Atlanta Caffeine and Octane is the Largest Monthly Meet in America. There may be bigger annual meets, but there will never be an event as consistently LARGE or as consistently FREE as Caffeine and Octane down here in ATL. That's right baby, the event is FREE to attend and is filmed by NBC! *Thumbnail changed to more prominently feature my car.

My original plan was to wake up early enough to get there before staff, and move the Exotic Gate to sneak my Weebvette inside...but then I realized: "Where's the fun in that, if it's another video all about me?". I want people to realize that Itasha isn't a battle I'm fighting alone and also that Itasha isn't only unique to Japan.

So instead. I hit up all my boys on the East Coast Itasha and they came down from Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and South Carolina, just to come squad up at this event! The new plan was...TO ALL PARK AT THE EXOTIC GATE. I knew my audience (even the weebs) are already pretty sick of just seeing my Weebvette in a vlog at shop or commented on by friends. So I figured to keep things interesting...we'd do this instead :)

I hope I didn't disappoint, as I definitely exceeded my own expectations of just One lone Weebvette in an exotic lot, to a whole squad of weeb bois instead!
Note: I filmed over 50 subscribers reacting to my car, but more than half had to be removed due to Copyrighted music, or being too young. YT has strict guidelines against filming younger folk, so I'm glad I got to meet you, but just know it wasn't any personal reason why you had to be removed...just YT policy is all!

DIY car itasha wrapping on my 2019 Honda Civic Type R
Character is Maria Cadenzavna Eve from the anime Senki Zesshou Symphogear. (This has her 3rd season [GX] design and 5th season [XV] design)
The other side has Tsubasa Kazanari, but I did the wrap on that side 4 months ago.
Design and install completed by me.
Printing was done by We Print Wraps.

What took me 6 hours condensed to 5.5 minutes.

I'm by no means a professional. Everything I learned was from watching videos on YouTube and through trial and error.

Wrap vs. Paint, is now a common question every car enthusiast is faced with when choosing a new color. However, is wrapping really for you? Or are you better off with your factory finish? Here in this video, I'll discuss Everything A Beginner Needs to Know About Car Vinyl Wraps!

*Note*: This video DOESN'T TEACH WRAPPING, rather it explains the "Concept of Vinyl Wraps" to someone who literally has no idea what a car wrap is and how it compares to paint.

The Number one mistake I see beginners obsess over is the Finish!
Whether it's Gloss, Satin, Matte, or Metallic, none of that matters if the material and brand isn't reputable! Even more so, if the application wasn't well done, than it'll just peel off anyway!

Just like with buying cars, choosing a wrap color shouldn't be "Love at first sight". Considering how temporary Vinyl Wraps already are and also considering the few thousand you'll be spending on it, you'll definitely be disappointed if you got something that lasted way shorter than you expected!!

So please research material, then source a local shop reputable enough to install it. If you're wrapping your own car for the first time ever, buy some spare material. Expect to redo some pieces and expect your wrap to not be perfect the first time around and peel after just a short year. You'll get better over time and ultimately, the biggest takeaway from this experience is that Wrapping should not be evaluated as an EQUAL to paint because it simply is not!
