The level design portfolio piece that got me into the industryIf you like this, consider supporting the Patreon: patreon.com/stevelee_gamedev In this video I show you my main level design portfolio piece, that I made in 2007 and used to get my first jobs in the industry. My aim is to give aspiring level designers a better idea of what they can do to help themselves get hired, and also to show why I keep banging on about making levels for games like Half Life 2, instead of trying to make level design portfolio work using Unreal or Unity. I also made a whole different video where I give super detailed level design feedback on this project, as if we were trying to ship it in a real game, which you can watch here: : youtu.be/K2kUQPJEot8 If you like this video, please consider helping me make more (and join our Discord community!) by supporting my Patreon: patreon.com/stevelee_gamedev 00:00 - Intro 06:01 - Tip #1 - Level Editors for Existing Games This video is part of my Talking About Level Design video series, which I've collected into this playlist: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbBhMQ8qnVWPV2XqMt3m57zQKXp-V2jS9 #leveldesign #halflife2 |
