ux design books, pro bono project & HubSpot app updates | Self-Taught UX Designer

my life has *truly* taken a sharp turn if I'm posting a mukbang. at this point, I have absolutely zero fucks to give what people might think.

*** If you're thinking about becoming a full-time self-taught UX designer, pls find comfort that I'm doing it despite not being the most disciplined person. I have productive days and I have off days. And that's okay. What's important is setting metrics and making sure you're hitting them so that you are learning and progressing. ***

tbh, I'm having a lot of fun with challenging myself to do things I never thought I'd ever do with this channel. I'm still pretty camera shy and if anyone in my personal life finds out about this... I know I said I have zero fucks to give but I'd probably pee my pantz.

pls enjoy a reflection of how week of April 18-23 as a self-taught UX designer went down for me. hope you ate with me (so weird to say lol)

TYSM -- I appreciate you :')

4 reasons to NOT become a UX designer in 2022

Part 2: youtu.be/NVCUfYW62IA

UX can be a great job, until it becomes horrible. It's definitely not for everyone and it's not even about learning Figma, or the Design Thinking process. Is 2022 a good year to become a UX designer? Yes and No.
In this video we're going to look at the reasons NOT to become a UX designer this year - and I'll break down four of them for you - with the most important being last.

If you're a junior UX designer and you want to learn and grow, make sure you're ready for everything that this job entails.

Webinar: Building a Website With Pro Bono Support

When people search for your nonprofit organization, your website is the first thing they see. You need great design that pulls people into your mission, strategies for reaching folks through online search engines, and UX that makes navigation easy.

But knowing how to develop, design, and write copy for your website is out of range for most nonprofit leaders. That’s where pro bono comes in.

Work with skilled volunteers who can fill in gaps in capacity while taking your website to new heights. We explain how to get connected with these powerful resources in our webinar recording where we’ll cover:

* The value of web design and development pro bono for nonprofits
* Examples of projects that you can request volunteer support for immediately, such as: SEO optimization, website redesign, online store implementation, website development
* Best practices for planning for and managing website-related pro bono

securing UX work as a self-taught designer for my portfolio

In this video, I take you along the first week of securing my first *ever* project as a UX Designer (eeeps, it still feels so surreal saying that)!! To be clear, it's pro bono work but we all gotta start somewhere, right?

I'm only 1.5 months into my self-learning curve so this is an opportunity for me to apply my learnings to a real life project. I've been told countless times by mentors to jump on one although I may feel incompetent because the experience will accelerate my education. So here I am!

I'll be documenting the rest of my journey with this project. So stay chuned!

If you've read this far -- tysm, I appreciate you :')
