Fun fact: The second largest UIL competition in the state of Texas is One Act Play (just under football). It is THE largest theater competition of its kind in the world. Almost EVERY SINGLE public high school in Texas participates. SO….why in the hell isn’t there an application dedicated to designing shows for these schools?
Fun fact #2: Houston and Dallas were both rated in the top 14 cities in the entire United States as biggest theater cities. There is a ton of theater in Texas.
That is why I built this stupid presentation. To convince you that this project is for an app that people want/need/love.My app would:- Allow users to 3-dimensionally place set pieces on a virtual stage to the dimensions of their choosing.
- Allow users to share their designs through saved files, or online in the app so other directors could view/save/comment on them.
- Would have super easy to use tools to clamp, rotate, place, flip, stand - whatever you could PHYSICALLY do with the set pieces, you can do in the app.
- Allow users to record the actors movement on the stage, much like a recording, so that directors can send actors movement notes even when they don’t meet in person.
- Allow designers to design sets faster, easier, and to their wildest dreams.

Theater or literature students can create their own sets in Tinkercad to help them envision bringing stories to the stage. The designs are then easily shared live, through screen recordings, or through iPad augmented reality recordings, and they can be easily modified in response to feedback.

Production Manager and FoH Audio Engineer CJ Blair and Lighting Director Jonathan Camarillo give EventElevator brief glimpse into the key elements of the energetic and free spirited stage design and audio techniques.

The design has been adapted for the smaller Europe venues but the style still retains the key-look of Silent House featuring a massive lighting rig with 75 Ayrton MagicBlade-FX, 80 ROBE BMFL Washbeams, GLP Impression X4s and lots of TMB Solaris Flares.
