A typical fixed-route transit system serves only the people and areas within a short distance of transit stops. To answer the question "Who does the public transit system serve?", we need to answer some sub-questions:
- Where are the transit stops and lines?
- What geographic area is served by the transit system?
- What are the demographic characteristics of the people served?

In this video, we’ll focus on the first question: Where are the transit stops and lines? We’re going to be using GTFS public transit data in this video to map the transit system's stops and lines.

Essex St on the Broadway Elevated was called "Manhattan Terminal" when it first opened and Canarsie Line trains also serviced the station. The Sea Beach Line was not owned by the LIRR, but the Sea Beach Railway until it got absorbed by the BRT in 1896. The present-day Dyre Avenue Line was under construction by the NYW&B for commuter service in 1908, it wasn't completed until 1912.

Using an inflation converter, I took the 2019 fare of "$2.11" and converted it to its 1908 value: 8 Cents. Ironically, the IRT fare back then was 5 cents, and the BRT Coney Island Branches 10 cents, so the value falls in the middle of the IRT & BRT. Coincidence?

I should note that Fifth Avenue Elevated trains used 36 St-5 Av to split onto 9th Av (Current 'D' Train Station Location) and went east for Culver via Gravesend Av (now McDonald Av), and southeast for Sea Beach/West End via New Utrecht until 62nd St where Sea Beach split off, continuing on the original Sea Beach Railway (not the current iteration the 'N' train uses). Just a little history.

Welcome to the new series! We are building a Métro Network for a fictional french city called 'Ville rivière'. Métro Ligne 01 is the main Métro Ligne in Ville rivière, as it links both the airports, City and International. Surprisingly the train stock uses MP 59 rubber tired Métro stock, however it is completely underground, (Trains with rubber tires are used to minimise sound on elevated stretches of track).

In order to include public transit schedule data in a network analysis, we need to create a network dataset that includes the public transit data. This video walks you through that process. We start with GTFS public transit data, convert that to the public transit data model, prepare street data and connect the transit data to the streets, create the network dataset, build it, and then test it out.

I created this in javascript. It took me 12 hours every day for a week! (I felt very rough for many days afterwards).
As I create my programs, they get more and more complicated, with loads of functions and vars. I code my javascript how I want, I don't structure it in that way that everybody goes on about so its easy to read. (some programmers go on and on about how code must be structured, so you can come back to it at a later date ect. They would probably count my code as ultra messy!). but I don't care, as I code my programs in the way that I find best for myself (as righting out my code in a so called neat way would mean I would take longer, and it would restrict my creativity).
As I haven't followed the typical neat way of coding, I have to remember the way the entire program works in my head. which can get very complicated. I have to work on the code every day (usually all day every day) until it is finished, I can't have a days rest or I might forget it.
After my program is finished and put on my website, just one week later, I have moved on to something else, and I can't remember how my code works (not enough so for me to do any more work on it), and a month after finishing it, I have no idea whatsoever how I programmed it.
THAT IS WHY, IF YOU WANT SOMETHING CHANGED, OR A NEW FEATURE IN THE PROGRAM, YOU MUST TELL ME IMMEDIATELY AFTER I UPLOAD THE VIDEO FOR IT.

It has now been several months since I programmed this, and I don't have the faintest idea of how my code works. I can NOT add any new features.
